When it comes to skincare, I love to try new products. From homemade products to natural store brands, if it has the ingredients I like and promises the solutions I need, I want to try it.
So when I stumbled across a newer company called Bask and Bloom Essentials, I was excited to see what they had to offer.
The founder, Candera Thompson, grew up with a love for conscious beauty products and turned that love into a thriving hair and skincare business.
After visiting their website and looking at all of their natural products for the hair and skin, I decided to give some of their skincare products a try.
I ordered two products (with my own money–this is not a sponsored post): the Rhassoul & Bentonite Clay Shampoo Bar (which doubles as a detoxifying facial cleanser) and the Vibrant Radiance Facial Cream.
When the products arrived, I was anxious to try them out. So that day, I put them to the test and here’s what I thought…
Rhassoul & Bentonite Clay Shampoo Bar
This shampoo bar/detoxifying facial cleanser is made with nourishing oils, bentonite clay, rhassoul clay, honey and amla powder. These ingredients work together to cleanse the skin and pores while moisturizing the skin.
I picked this cleanser because it contains natural ingredients my skin (and hair) loves. Also, I liked that I could use it for both my face and my hair.
Since I didn’t need a lot, I cut off just a small piece of the bar to use, which means it will last me for quite some time.
It cleansed my face very well without making it feel stripped or dry. It has a nice, light fragrance which was very pleasant. And when I washed it off, my face looked clean and dewy. It also felt soft and moisturized.
Vibrant Radiance Facial Cream
I decided to purchase this facial cream because I had run out of my Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Radiance Moisturizer which I also loved. But I was ready to try something new.
The Bask and Bloom Essentials Vibrant Radiance Facial Cream is made with mango butter and nourishing oils such as baobab, argan, sweet almond, blueberry seed, rosehips, and camellia seed.
It promises to combat harsh weather elements while nourishing and rejuvenating the skin. It also has a pleasant, light fragrance which I like.
While my face was still a little damp from rinsing off the facial cleanser, I applied the facial cream. The consistency of the cream seemed very watery and I was nervous that it would leave my skin feeling dry.
But what I discovered was the oils were better able to be absorbed into my skin because of the water. And a minute or two after applying, the oils weren’t sitting on top of my skin, but had completely been absorbed,
My skin didn’t look or feel oily at all, and it felt moisturized. It didn’t feel tight or dry, and this moisturized feeling lasted through the day. And it gave me a nice smooth, matte finish that lasted.
I’ve since used these products with my DIY Apple Cider Vinegar toner with great results (get the recipe in my Mini Facelift Planner). It gave my face even more of a smooth texture and glow.
Overall, I’m a big fan of these Bask and Bloom Essentials skincare products. And I plan to keep them in my skincare products rotation.
