A quick online search on “beauty products” will give you thousands upon thousands of results. From skincare to makeup to salons, there’s a product out there that promises life-changing results.
But what you may miss if you’re not careful is a growing group of women who are redefining beauty by creating and promoting natural regimens, products, and remedies.
And it’s not just a trend–it’s a lifestyle…
…a lifestyle that’s giving women the power to uncover a more youthful face while healing their bodies in the process.
How natural products are redefining beauty
It’s simple…natural is healthier.
Our skin is the largest organ of the body. And what we put on it gets absorbed into the bloodstream.
So if your skincare product contains synthetic chemicals that promise to lighten, plump up or tighten your skin, those same chemicals get absorbed into the bloodstream. Who knows what else in your body is getting plumped up or tightened that doesn’t need to be.
Okay, maybe this is a slight exaggeration, but…
According to the Environmental Working Group. of the 10,500 cosmetics and skin care ingredients known to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, close to 90 percent of them have not been evaluated for safety by the Cosmetic Ingredient Review, the FDA, or any other publicly accountable institution.
And according to TreeHugger.com, “More than 1,110 personal-product ingredients have been banned for use in cosmetics in the European Union because of concerns that they may cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive ills. By contrast only 10 are banned here in the U.S. ”
Natural products are made from non-artificial ingredients like plants, natural oils, fruit extracts and fruit acids. These are ingredients our bodies can absorb and thrive from.
Yes, some people do have sensitivities still to natural products, but they can generally find natural ingredients that work and without the worry of toxins entering the bloodstream.
Using skincare products derived from nature is one of the best ways to get (and keep) your skin healthy, glowing and more youthful in appearance.
Introducing Fresh-Faced Females to Follow (#FF²)
My mission is to seek out women who are changing the face of beauty by creating or promoting natural remedies for skincare.
This is often not an easy journey because they have to compete with large corporations that mass-produce chemical-laden products and have thousands at their disposal for advertising.
Each week on the traditional “Follow Friday” I will be featuring a Fresh-faced Female to Follow (#FF²) on Instagram. This is a trailblazer who is redefining beauty in her own unique way. I will also highlight a few of these innovators here on the blog.
So who’s our first #FF²?
Cordie from Hubsch is redefining beauty
Feed your skin is the ideology. And it’s obvious: don’t put on what you would not put in!
I found Cordie on Instagram after falling in love with an image she posted: Feed Your Skin. It was directly in line with my message here on Natural Face Therapy, so I had to reach out.
After chatting online with Cordie, I quickly learned the products she creates truly feed the skin and heal it naturally. I knew hers was a message I wanted to share. Here’s what I learned from Cordie:
How did Hubsch begin?
Hubsch (German for pretty, handsome) is a new business venture that hatched in February 2018 after 12 months of nurturing. Hubsch products are all handmade. They include ingredients foraged by me directly from fantastic suppliers, where possible. The company’s mission statement is
A plant derived skin care brand that helps busy millennials reconnect with their soul and experience wholesome beauty.
What types of products do you make?
My personal favorite is #77 Toning Gel because it’s simple: pure aloe vera gel, witch hazel, plus rose geranium oil. Its scent is therapeutically refreshing and it gives your skin an instant cool, plump glow.
I am also totally persuaded by oil cleansing. Having acne prone skin, I have been desperate to come away from chemical-laden treatments. The #12 oil cleanser plus the #1 facial oil do an incredible job for my skin.
Which products have been popular with your customers?
I have a big demand for my #45 skin conditioner at this time of year. The beach holidays are calling and cracked, dry heels aren’t going!
The #51 body butter is an incredibly potent coconut oil. It smells gorgeous and your skin absorbs it like a hungry hippo.
The full range of products is tested and approved by me and my critical benchmarking group. I hope your audience loves them as much as I do.
You can learn more about Hubsch and purchase their products by visiting the site. And they do ship to the U.S.
