Yogurt, Honey & Star Anise Face Mask
Moisturizing face mask featuring yogurt, Manuka honey and Star Anise.
Servings: 1 application
- 2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
- 1-2 tsp Manuka honey See note below
- 1-2 tsp star anise water
To make the star anise water, take a handful of star anise pods and add to a pot with 1/4 cup of water. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 2 - 3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
Blend the yogurt, Manuka honey, and 1 - 2 teaspoons of star anise water together until you get a creamy paste.
Using a facial brush or your fingers, apply the mask to your face and neck. Leave on for up to 20 minutes then rinse with warm water. Follow with moisturizer and admire your natural glow!
While you can substitute any raw honey, I love Manuka honey for this recipe. This is because Manuka honey has been produced by using the flowers of the Manuka tree and it contains the enzyme, Methylglyoxal (a natural antibacterial compound), which doesn't exist in other honeys. It also contains more antioxidants than regular honey which helps to slow down the aging process.
